Description: Sheridan Park tells the history of Wisconsin. Take a journey that spans over a billion years to discover how fire, water, and ice shaped our landscape. An interactive lab will be followed by a 90-minute hike along Sheridan Park bluffs on the Lake Michigan beach. All participants receive their own personal "How-to" guide to ID Wisconsin rocks and geologic layers in the field. Everyone receives copy of The Rocks Don't Lie by David R. Montgomery.
First half of program inside. Second half of program outside. Participants should plan on being outside for up to 90 minutes. Dress for weather and extensive walking over uneven surfaces at leisurely pace. Water bottle recommended. Limited spaces available.
